ANASTASIA MASARO is an Academy Award and BAFTA-nominated production designer. She has worked internationally with many critically acclaimed directors, including Terry Gilliam, Jason Reitman, Anton Corbijn, Gavin Hood, Mikael Salomon, Niels Arden Oplev and James Wan.
Anastasia’s work has earned her accolades around the world and her work has been showcased in prestigious film festivals such as the Cannes Film Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival, the Sundance Film Festival and the Berlinale.
"The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" marked her second collaboration with Terry Gilliam and garnered her both Oscar and BAFTA nominations, as well as other industry accolades.
Anastasia production designed the James Dean biopic “Life” for director Anton Corbijn which starred Dane DeHaan and Robert Pattinson. This was her second collaboration with Anton, her first being the Arcade Fire music video “Reflektor”, for which she was nominated for an Art Directors Guild Award and won an MTV Video Music Award for Best Art Direction.
Her most recent feature film, “Tully”, was directed by Jason Reitman and premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Written by Diablo Cody, it stars Charlize Theron and Mackenzie Davis.
She is a member of BAFTA, the Art Directors Guild - IATSE 800, IATSE 891 and the Directors Guild of Canada.
Anastasia has worked across Canada, in the UK and in Louisiana, New York and Los Angeles.
