ANASTASIA MASARO is an Academy Award and BAFTA-nominated production designer. She has worked internationally with many critically acclaimed directors, including Terry Gilliam, Jason Reitman, Anton Corbijn, Gavin Hood, Mikael Salomon, Niels Arden Oplev and James Wan.
 
Anastasia’s work has earned her accolades around the world and her work has been showcased in prestigious film festivals such as the Cannes Film Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival, the Sundance Film Festival and the Berlinale.

THE IMAGINARIUM OF DOCTOR PARNASSUS marked her second collaboration with Terry Gilliam and garnered her both Oscar and BAFTA nominations, as well as other industry accolades.
 
Anastasia production designed the James Dean biopic LIFE for director Anton Corbijn which starred Dane DeHaan and Robert Pattinson. This was her second collaboration with Anton, her first being the Arcade Fire music video REFLEKTOR, for which she was nominated for an Art Directors Guild Award and won an MTV Video Music Award for Best Art Direction.
 
Her feature film, TULLY, was directed by Jason Reitman and premiered at the Sundance Film Festival as 2018’s Secret Screening.  Written by Diablo Cody, it stars Charlize Theron and Mackenzie Davis.

Her most recent feature film is the fantasy NIGHTBOOKS, directed by David Yarovesky and produced by Sam Raimi. She recently production designed the mini-series FELLOW TRAVELERS, written by Ron Nyswaner and based on the novel by Thomas Mallon which won a Peabody award and garnered several nominations including Golden Globe, Critics Choice and Satellite awards for Best Limited Series.

Anastasia is a member of BAFTA, the Art Directors Guild - IATSE 800, IATSE 891 and the Directors Guild of Canada. She has worked across Canada, in the UK and in Louisiana, New York, Los Angeles and New Mexico and holds both Canadian and EU passports.
